I'm terrible

Let's be real. Productivity is hard.

I have no excuses for not blogging for over a month besides work and filming which are so not a valid excuse at all. So this leaves me with something to think about... How on Earth do I manage to be productive and get everything done that I need to? Lists? My iPhone? Siri? An awesome robot assistant? A real person assistant? What do I need to do?! Gah!

So I maybe possibly have some kind of theory of something that can help! If I publicly make a list of things I need to do every week and then you guys can yell at me when I don't do them... or maybe you can think of some punishments!

Shawnee's AWESOME To-Do List

  1. Upload a new Kigu Time every Tuesday (I'm ontop of this one guys! FAQ YEAH!)
  2. Upload a new random video every Thursday (I do this one MOST of the time...)
  3. Post a KiguTime word of the day EVERY DAY on all KiguTime social profiles.
  4. Upload a Duffy picture EVERY DAY!
  5. Blog at least once a week!
  6. Post somehting on my personal "FB Fan Page" every day. (I hate the word fan -.-)

That doesn't seem like much right? I can totally do it! I just need some sort of productivity plan! What do you do to stay productive and remember stuff?

My Favorite Japanese Stores & Malls!

Today I posted a video of Kigu Time where I take you on a tour of the Japanese mall/store thing that I always went to as a child! Check it out:

So I decided to share some of my other favorite Japanese malls and stores around Southern California! So if you live in Los Angeles/Southern California this will be a handy guide for you! Maybe? Sure.

❀ ✿Marukai✿ ❀

These are pictures from the large one in Gardena, CA but there are a ton of locations! I chose the pictures of Gardena because it has a beautiful mosaic look to it and it is two stories! It is definitely my favorite Marukai! The bottom floor consists of a food court and insanely large market (which includes food, electronics, dish-ware, cosmetics, body care, vitamins and so on. You get the picture. They have everything.) They also have a clothing store (which is OK but kind of old ladyish. If you're an old lady it's AWESOME!) and a Sanrio/Anime/Kawaii cute store! On the top floor it is mostly insanely cool furniture but they also have Kimono and lots of fun trinkets.

There are a lot of Marukai locations spanning from San Diego to Los Angeles some of them are like small malls and others are just grocery stores.  Want to see if you have a local Marukai? Click here!

❀ ✿Little Tokyo Galleria✿ ❀

Little Tokyo Galleria is located a few blocks away from the main part of Little Tokyo Los Angeles. They have an awesome two story Korean market inside (that used to be a Mitsuwa) that sells a large variety Japanese and Korean products! The top floor of the market is mainly household items but they also have a clothing section and a Sanrio section. The Little Tokyo Galleria also has Tom N Toms which is kind of like Starbucks but they are all natural and have lots of yummy snacks! They also have some drinks that are more on the wild side like a red bean frappe! There are a few restaurants, a bowling alley, Beard Papas, a juice bar, a yogurt/boba joint (the best one in Little Tokyo IMHO,) a ceramics store, a florist, a Japanese style arcade, karaoke, this odds and ends type store and random clothing shops. (Also if you go to Tom n Toms parking is free for two hours instead of one which is what most places offer!) Click here for their Yelp Profile

❀ ✿DAISO Japan✿ ❀

Daiso Japan is essentially a $1.50 store where you never know what you are going to get! One thing is for sure though... these stores are always packed to the brim with the cutest stuff ever!!! Unlike our 99¢ store which sells things that didn't sell well in the store or are surplus, Daiso offers a large variety of things that are made by them and for their store and also Japanese things that aren't expensive to begin with. This is my go-to place for so many things for around the house, awesome Japanese candy, some skin care stuff, and stationary! You should definitely check out Daiso if you are near one and you love cute things! (or even useful cheap things!) They have over 3,500 stores and more than 700 of them are outside of Japan! Click here for a store locator!

*Right now the only stores in the US are located in California and Washington but hopefully there will be more soon!

❀ ✿Weller Court✿ ❀

Nestled in the high-rises of Los Angeles is Weller Court. Here you will find the famous Japanese book store Kinokuniya, Marukai, Orochon Ramen (as seen on the Food Network for their SUPER spicy ramen!) Curry House, Q Pop art gallery/shop, Demitasse the hipster siphon coffee shop, and other random shops and restaurants! They also often have really great live music and a lot of cosplayers meet up here so that's always fun! Click here for their Yelp page!

❀ ✿Japanese Village Plaza & Little Tokyo Mall✿ ❀

Located across the street from Weller Court is the Little Tokyo Mall and the Japanese Plaza Village. There is not much to the Little Tokyo Mall but there are three really cool stores inside it! Anime Jungle is a store dedicated to your inner otaku! They are so much anime stuff that it might overwhelm you! They have everything from manga to figures to blu-rays to anime girl body pillows! It's definitely worth checking out. Also if you are no longer interested in your huge anime collection they buy stuff there! They also own another store down the hall which is mostly Purikura and claw machines. In the corner of it they have a small cosplay clothing store which has some fun stuff. The other store I like is the Fairytale Boutique. While it is quite over priced (at least for their Lolita Magazines which you can find in Japanese bookstores for half the price) it is very cute!

Outside of the Little Tokyo Mall is the Japanese Village Plaza which is home to a lot of amazing stores! They have a Nijiya market which has a HUGE selection of Japanese candy! This is probably my favorite place to go to for candy and it's usually priced better than other markets. They also have a Sanrio store but it's usually marked up compared to Sanrio stores in regular malls. Next to the Sanrio store is the best cosmetics store ever! But... I can't find the name of it. It's the best place to go for Japanese lashes and NYX cosmetics. Hands down the cheapest place I've been to. Across from there is the Tokyo Lifestyle shop! It is a lot cheaper than the one in my mall here and has a larger selection! I highly recommend it for fun Japanese products! There are a lot more great little stores in this area and a lot of insanely good restaurants. I feel like I could make a whole blog post on just this area. I might.

Let's not make this weird guys...

In my newest video I show girls how to have epic cleavage without the use of special bras, inserts that look like weird meat, or weird Japanese boob pills... they exist... not even kidding... They even have have magic boob growing cookies! I wonder if they are delicious... ʕु•̫͡•ʔु

Aparantly they are all natural! (^艸^)

Hmmm.... now that I've gone to that part of the internet let's see what other weird boobie enlargement things I can find... This is a great idea. ( ̄□||||!!

This is a massager that is supposed to stumulate growth? Maybe? I've seen a lot of these at Japanese stores and I've even played with one! (*ノ∀`*)

( ・◇・)? At first I didn't think this was real! I guess it exists though! It says it is clenically proven and super real! Doubt it! If you've tried it comment! Tell me! LOL

..and then there is my favorite...

$1.50 Daiso inflatable boobies! Anyone can use them!

Since I only went the one day I didn't get much coverage but I did get some friends to help introduce my new series coming to my channel every Tuesday! Check it out...

Check out the channels of my guest stars!

Balloon Animals (Michael)

So excited to make this new series of videos! I have filmed several already and I have written episodes all the way through the end of October! I have never felt so productive (YouTube wise) and inspired to make content. Could this be what I should have been doing the whole time? lol! What can I say? I LOVE Japan and Japanese culture and I was raised with it so I am very connected to it. (*^▽^*)

Speaking of being super pumped I think taking a six month hiatus from YouTube and deleting (making private) all of my videos was one of the best choices I've made! (YouTube wise) Not only did I come back recharged but I also came back a unjaded. It's really easy to get into a funk when you are creating stuff you don't really care about and you're not proud of. It's also really easy to fall into the number hole where you only care about is analytics. I totally fell into both those holes and was thinking YouTube was something I just wanted to quit. I really needed to step back to be able to see what I needed to do. Now I feel free to create whatever I want and not worry about what other people expect from me or want from me. Yes the viewers matter but my viewers have been so supportive about my revamp that I'm pretty sure as long as I am creating stuff I love they will keep watching. (*′☉.̫☉)

Anyways... I could go on forever about my choices but all I will say is I think it was for the best. (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑

If my new series interests you make sure you come back on July 8th for a tour of my favorite Japanese store/mall and on July 15th for a lesson in greetings and other common phrases!

Cyberbullies and Haters

*Note* I'm probably going to make a YT video about this eventually but until then here is a blog post!

"The first to apologize is the bravest.
The first to forgive is the strongest.
The first to forget is the happiest."

So the other day I came upon a YouTuber who's videos I REALLY liked and then the drama bomb dropped... (I'm not going to link the YouTuber or drama filled videos and forums because that's a black hole you do not want to enter. Trust me. Also it has nothing to do with me. They were just drama videos.) Yes, I think a lot drama definitely puts people off from enjoying your channel. Drama might draw people in for a minute while they lavish in your misfortune but it wont keep people interested. Ok I am going off my intended topic... Anyway! What I discovered what that people throw around the term "cyberbully" and "hater" like beads at Mardi Gras. Most often these words don't even apply to the situation. The person just doesn't have a real response so they throw the word "cyberbully" or "hater" at a person.

Cyberbullying is when someone is sending your threatening messages, using their strength or influence to make you do things you don't want to do, exposing people's personal information online, and repeatedly sending you harmful messages or comments. If you are being bullied online you NEED to call your local authorities or reach out to an anti-bullying organization such as the government campaign Stop Bullying

Cyberbullying is NOT when someone disagrees with you, says they dislike you, or gets offended when you say or do something mean yourself. If you start a war with someone by picking on them and they respond to you in anger that is an argument NOT bullying.Bullying is also not when someone responds negatively to something insensitive or downright stupid that you did or said online. Please don't throw around the "cyberbully" word at every single person who responds negatively to you. That takes away the powerfulness and seriousness of the word and discredits people who are actually receiving death threats and threats against their wellbeing.

Now for "haters..." So there is this whole "You're just a hater" thing going on around the internet. I guarantee most of the people you call "haters" don't hate you at all. They are either a troll and it doesn't have anything to do with you, they just want some attention, or they didn't agree with your post. If someone simply doesn't like you they don't hate you. They may say something insensitive to you but that's to be expected. Why? Because we are sitting here behind a computer all alone making comments on things. It's like when you're driving and someone doesn't know how to merge and you say "You're the biggest jerk-face on the planet!" When you say that you know you're alone and you don't think about the other person's feelings. That is the last thing on your mind right? Are you annoyed? Yes. Do you hate the person? Probably not. So are you a hater? No. It's the same exact way when someone sees something they don't like online. They are alone and venting and they probably didn't think twice about the feelings of the person who posted it. So remember that when you get a not so nice response on a post.

Also having "haters" does not make you famous! STOP! Sure famous people have people that don't like them but being known for being hated is not cool.

So now that I've vented about delusional people who think they are bullied or hated... Let's talk about what to do when you are approached by a troll or someone who doesn't say the nicest thing in a comment.

The first thing you need to do is step outside of yourself and ask yourself some questions...

Is this person providing criticism that you could use to your advantage? If so then you should listen to them.

Is the person personally hurt or offended by what I said? Then you should apologize.

Does this person just dislike me or my art? Then ignore them.

Is this person a troll? Then ignore them or don't take them seriously and make a joke our of their comment. I personally like to just respond to them with quotes from The Dude.

All in all try to not to take all these people on the internet all that seriously. When you put yourself in the public eye and openly share your opinions there will be people who don't like you, don't agree with you, and people who are just drunk at home and bored and trolling. Don't worry about those people and focus on all the cool people that exist online!
